Adult Level 2 Kayak Class Ontario SPCA and Humane Society Lennox and Addington Animal Centre. Adult Level 2: River Maneuvering Adult Level 2 is the natural progression after our Level 1 courses and is designed for paddlers who are ready to deepen their skills in Class III whitewater. This two day course focuses on refining foundational technique, developing effective river maneuvers, building confidence in dynamic water, and learning your kayak roll. Day 1 begins in the 4CRS pool with focused roll developmentworking on setup, hip snap, body mechanics, and consistency. After warming up, well head to a Class III section of the Animas (water level dependent) to practice paddle progression, edging, peel outs, eddy turns, beginner ferries, and basic river reading. After lunch on the river, well return to the water for continued practice, emphasizing boat control and stroke efficiency. The day concludes with optional pool time to reinforce roll fundamentals. Day 2 starts with a quick skills review before moving to a different stretch of the Animas to apply what you learned in more varied features. Well focus on refining ferries, carving into and out of eddies, catching micro eddies, surfing gentle waves, and improving precision in moving water. After a riverside lunch, well progress to a slightly more challenging section to build confidence navigating small rapids, choosing clean lines, and reading patterns in Class II water. Well end the afternoon in the pool for additional roll practice and personalized feedback to help solidify your progress. By the end of the weekend, youll have stronger river running fundamentals, increased boat control, and improved roll mechanicssetting you up for continued advancement in whitewater. This class includes all gear, lunch, transportation, and instructors.
